Subject to a special decree by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, NCFU has been selected as the only academic institution in the South Federal District and North Caucasus Area to examine foreigners’ skills in the Russian as a Foreign Language, History and Russian Legislation Basics. Only 14 academic institutions of Russia have been granted this right.

The so-called comprehensive exam in question was introduced in 2015 and is one of the major conditions for foreigners coming to Russia seeking employment, a patent or a residence permit.

In NCFU, such examination is carried out at the Center for Linguistic Examination. Four years ago, NCFU, following a special selection contest, was awarded the status of the major center for comprehensive examination, after which local centers were launched at various institutions of the North Caucasus.

Late last year, there were some amendments introduced in the respective legislation, after which a list of institutions was approved to carry out comprehensive tests.

 – We are happy that our rich experience and numerous methodological achievements have been recognized, – Elvira Lavrik (Head of Center for Linguistic Examination) noted. – Each year we examine thousands of foreigners coming from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, England, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, South Africa and other countries. We develop our own tests and, to those passing the test successfully, we award respective certificates recognized internationally. And now we do hope we will go on offering our top-level services and sharing experience with our colleagues from other universities, both of the North Caucasus and other areas.
