NCFU team has done really well at the data security online-contest held as a CTF game. Our students have become the winners also taking three more awards.

CTF (Capture the flag) is a team game the purpose of that being to fight for the rival’s flag, while the participants have to do that through data security and IT skills.

The organizers of the event were NCFU and the Volgograd State University.

All in all, there were 30 teams representing academic institutions of Stavropol, Belgorod, Orenburg, Makhachkala, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Sevastopol and other Russian cities.

In total, the teams were offered 16 tasks (administration, cryptography and steganography, identifying web vulnerabilities, etc.).

The best team to complete the tasks was The Stonks (NCFU), while the silver and the bronze were shared by NCFU & the Volgograd State University, and NCFU (2 teams) and the Astrakhan State University, respectively.
