The North-Caucasus Federal University has delivered a cycle of methodological seminars for teachers of the Russian language of Kyrgyzstan, which was part of the events aimed at enhancing professional competencies and increasing cooperation in the sphere of educational technologies.

The seminar brought together around 100 school/university teachers and methodologists of the Russian language from various parts of Kyrgyzstan, whereas the lecturers represented the Institute of Humanities (NCFU), including Vyacheslav Khodus, Irina Ivanova, Lyudmila Bronskaya, Olga Strashkova, Victoria Sichinava, Sergey Gusarenko, Olga Gorobets and Elena Zhdanova.

– This is an extremely popular and attractive project, which is carried out within our active cooperation with the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. This implies not only experience exchange alone, yet also enhancing international academic links, - Elina Pivanova (Acting Assistant Director for International Affairs, Institute of Humanities, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

The themes discussed through the seminar touched upon a variety of issues – from teaching students speaking Russian to teaching the language in question as foreign.

Further joint events include various academic programs aimed at support and promotion of the Russian language in the Post-Soviet countries, with a cooperation agreement to be signed by the two universities.
