The City of Odintsovo, Moscow Area, Russia, hosted several Taekwondo contests with 750 sportsmen from 39 areas of Russia coming to attend. The contest was held with no spectators following strict safety requirements due to the pandemic.

The finals results showed that Alexander Vinnikov (student, Institute of Education and Social Sciences, NCFU) won two golds and one bronze, thus winning his right to represent Russia at the World Championship in 2021.

– I’ve been practicing this sport for 10 years now and have attended contests since 2016. Now we are getting prepared for the Europe and World Cups, and I am happy and proud to have the honor of representing for this country. The context was a little unusual as there were no viewers but I did my best. Just being confident will lead you to new success, - Alexander said while sharing his impressions.

Other winners from NCFU were students Victor Ilyashenko, Nicholas Serdyukov, Andrey Macozeb and Nikita Krutikov who won team silver.
