NCFU team has performed successfully at the online data-hackathon, which was held as part of the World AI & Data Challenge international project.
A series of large-scale online data-hackathons was launched by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. This event mostly attracted university students majoring in IT, where some of them were part pf a team while others relied on their own capacity alone. For the two days they worked on a selected task where they were supposed to develop a service for identifying cardiovascular issues, develop an algorithm for spelling check, calculate the best number of transport routes, etc.
On Day all the teams presented their projects to the Jury, while only three teams survived to Day two, two of these teams representing NCFU.
The challenge was held in parallel in four more places all over Russia – Yaroslavl, Kursk, Ryazan, and Astrakhan. At the final stage, the two teams joined their effort to present a common project, which implied a mobile application to read the Braille alphabet. The Jury experts stated that no other team had presented anything similar, so now, provided the NCFU teams polish their project a bit, they can fight for the top prize in the World AI & Data Challenge final, which is to be held in August this year.
Great job, folks! We believe you are the best!
