An NCFU student has won 2 prizes at the XI Shotokan Championship of the Southern and North-Caucasus Federal Districts.
Shotokan is a special style of Japanese karate whose origins date far back. Developed originally by Gichin Funakoshi, it was further promoted by his son Yoshitaka Funakoshi. This martial art features special linear movements and similarly directed force application, all this making it specifically spectacular.
As over 450 fighters were competing in Stavropol (Russia) to win the major prize, Maria Krivoschekova (student, Institute of Economics & Management, NCFU) proved to be one of the best, winning two silvers in a tough fight.

– I am truly happy I got silver. I believe the main thing here is not to lose your spirit if you fail to take gold – this is just a small gap in between the two. All I have to do next time is pluck up all my courage and strength and I will succeed, – Maria was quoted as saying.
Perfectly done, Lady! Congratulations and go on! We believe in you!
