NCFU Researchers Develop New Generation Laser

27.12.22 10:57

Category: Main

NCFU researchers have developed unique technologies to create ceramic active environments, which are to replace monocrystals in solid-body lasers.

Entire sphere of research has already shifted towards the domain of nano, technologies compete at the atomic grid level, and NCFU researchers are never watching it from aside ye involved actively.

This year, a special lab has been established for advanced materials and lasers, whereas the staff employed here is involved in creating better technologies for optical ceramics to be used in microelectronics, optics and photonics.

The laser systems development at NCFU may be very important for industry, material processing, medicine, communications, etc., and this trend is gaining momentum now, with countries like China, Germany, USA, Japan and Britain leading.

– Our researchers’ developments are of critical importance in many areas and will allow not only substituting exports in the laser technology promotion in Russia yet will also let us advance to foreign markets. I believe that manufacturers will take interest in what we are offering now, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

Generally speaking, NCFU has already got 8 patents in the area of optical ceramics, and the respective production technology is to be developed and launched soon at an industrial partner’s facility.
