Andrey Pavlov (lab assistant & engineer, Dept for Computer Security, Institute of Digital Development, NCFU), has scored top points thus joining the pool of winners at the Information Security Grant contest held by the MOSCOW TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATICS. The selection was based on several factors, namely, novelty, feasibility, and the available research grounds.

All in all, there were 30 winners selected, including Andrey who presented his project focusing on machine learning algorithms in robotics for military purposes.

Such robotic systems can be used to develop small-size bombers based on unmanned aerial vehicles. As for civil use, then the systems can be well used in entertainment and advertising, or even to complete certain complex logistics tasks for cargo transportation.

Now the winner is to present his final research paper focusing on the said issue. The grant subsidy sum is either RUR 1,200,000 or RUR 1, 600,000, for a Candidate of Science and Doctor of Science level, respectively. The funds can be used to promote the project, including acquiring resources to carry out research activities.
