On the Day of the Russian Language, Prof. Olga Lepilkina (Head of dept for Journalism, NCFU) spoke about t6eh responsibility that every Russian citizen bears to the Rusisan Language. Mrs. Lepilkina mentioned that, for example, many just forget about commas only because the keypad is not convenient in this respect.
– You can’t but agree that the person who developed the keypad arrangement made commas too complicated to put, which is a real damage to our literacy, as if commas are nothing. But they help express our thoughts, and all the shades of these, – she said when talking to the Svoe TV channel.
– We have this bureaucracy language, we have that vulgar language, we have the Internet language, finally, but what about the great and powerful language that our outstanding Russian writer Turgenev mentioned in the XIX Century? He said that only a great people can enjoy such a language. Aren’t we great any more? We can be proud of our country that has managed to maintain the ethnic diversity, and this, in turn, has been done through language as well. And here, in the North Caucasus, people should be aware of this like nowhere else. – Prof. Lepilkina concluded.
