This a unique multilanguage and multi-national community joined by their shared desire to live and study in Russia.

The major objectives set for the Marusya Russian Language Club for Foreign Students include learning or improving their Russian language skills as well as get accustomed to the new environment, both academically and in daily life, and this is where they enjoy all support they can get from local students who have volunteered to introduce their foreign counterparts to the Russian culture, traditions and enjoy communication with anyone around.

The club meetings are to be held once a week, and subject to the carefully designed concept, each Russian language session will be preceded with a joint tour to some culture-related place – cinema, local tour, performance, etc. The events in this case will be those arranged both for the entire city and for the NCFU students. As for the class to follow, foreign students will spend their time there discussing with their volunteer-coaches all they saw, while learning new words and speech patterns to express their opinion and polish verbal skills.

Around 20 students majoring in Philology and Pedagogic Education have already joined the Russian speaking club as volunteers to accompany foreign guys at all the events mentioned above, plan their classes, deliver classes and cover all these activities in the social media.

The official opening is to be held on October 14, after which all the participants and organizers will discuss the entire concept for the club and plan the meetings to be held.

The club is to be functioning in close cooperation with the Preparatory Department for Foreigners (Department for International Cooperation, NCFU) and with the Union of Foreign Students of NCFU. The Union is currently involved in a survey carried out among foreign students in order to identify a list of locations and topics that would be of interest.
