NCFU, together with Syria’s largest university – Damascus University – has launched a number of projects embracing the most relevant for the two countries research areas.

Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) had a trip to Syria where he held a meeting with Prof. Mohamad Osama Al-Jabban (President, Damascus University), and the two parties signed a cooperation agreement to carry out joint activities in areas like Physics, Mathematics, Geology, and Geophysics. Now, in the nearest future the two universities are to hold together conferences, seminars, start joint labs and even promote academic exchange for both students and teaching staff.

Damascus University is the largest and the oldest university of Syria with over 210 students, and is ranked among TOP-100 academic institutions in the Arab world, while the Arab Language Institute here has been officially acknowledged as the world’s best center for Arab Language studies.

— I do believe that international cooperation and integration will help our researchers gain serious advance both in fundamental studies and in advanced technology, — Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.

The two institutions are to make their first serious joint steps as soon as this year, when a delegation of Damascus University (students and teachers) are to come to NCFU to join the First Russia-Syria Youth Forum as well as to get to know the resources that NCFU has to offer.
