Stavropol has got its first in history Basic Department of TV and Radio Journalism, which was initiated by the NCFU and the STAVROPOLYE TV & Radio Broadcasting Company.

The main purpose for establishing the department is to train qualified experts able to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in practice.

As Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) noted, the opening of the department is an important event for the University.

– For nearly 30 years our University has been training experts who further found their employment in the media, both in Russia and around the world. Over 1500 of those employed currently in the media sphere earned their degrees from the NCFU. And this is just the beginning! Now our students will master their profession not within classrooms here, yet also polishing their skills in a professional TV context, – Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.

Mikhail Tkachev (Director, STAVROPOLYE TV & Radio Broadcasting Company), in turn, noted that the department is ready to welcome students from all parts of the North Caucasus to help them study all the best of TV, radio and Internet journalism.

The NCFU is currently running 45 departments launched jointly with the region’s leading enterprises, so students can get field placement without having to stop their purely academic studies.
