North-Caucasus Federal University had an online meeting joining the association within the framework of the Eighth General meeting of the RKCTU.
The Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Technical Universities was established enjoying support from the respective ministries of the two countries and joins together universities that share common goals in terms of supporting and promoting joint network degree programs.
The Consortium’s members are already running 101 degree programs, with 450 students undergoing training and 105 graduates already awarded their certificates.
The meeting was to be held in Kyrgyzstan, yet the pandemic has turned it online.
When addressing the colleagues, Andrey Likhovid (Pro-Rector for Academic Affairs, NCFU) introduced them to the University’s potential and advances in all the areas of human activity – from new drug development to cyber-security.
– Education here relies on research, Mr. Likhovid stressed. – From the very first days, students can apply their knowledge and join various research projects together with their experienced tutors.
Besides, he pointed at the fact that NCFU is the flagship of engineering education in the region and has numerous international partners from among the world’s best academic institutions.
The meeting was concluded with a vote, following which NCFU was granted membership in the Consortium, which means now we are free to promote another double-degree program with Kyrgyzstan and expand our international partnership pool.
