NCFU Joins International Symposium in Turkey
The North-Caucasus Federal University joined the international symposium South Caucasus in the Context of Social, Economic and Political Processes after the Cold War, while the event brought over 30 experts from Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Netherlands and the United States.
The symposium was arranged by the Aegean University (Izmir, Turkey), which is one of the best universities in the Middle East. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was held online.

– To ensure the region’s political, economic, social and cultural progress, we have to take into account not the contemporary realities alone yet also the historical experience of successful cooperation that the countries of the South Caucasus have demonstrated. These positive points from the past will allow us to build a productive dialog in the present and in the future, - Igor Kryuchkov (Head of Department for International History, Political Studies and International Relations) noted in his opening speech.
The participants spent two days discussing the current issues and potential development of the South Caucasus states, as well as their relations with the major international players, and there were more than a few points of view expressed by outstanding historians, political researches, economists, sociologists, international relations experts and linguists, with a volume of speeches to be published later on.
