December 3-5, 2020, Moscow (Russia) hosted the Artificial Intelligence Journey 2020 international conference, which focused on the most relevant issues in the field of artificial intelligence and data analysis. The AI Journey 2020, which was held online, brought together both national and foreign experts, business circles as well as the government and the academic community.

When opening the event, German Gref (President of Sberbank) announced the opening of the first Russian Artificial Intelligence Institute, and more than a few outstanding experts delivered speeches on Day 1 – Jürgen Schmidhuber, Mike Davis, Anima Anandkumar, Mikhail Burtsev, Michael Hinde to name just a few.

On Day 2, the major participants were President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Vice-Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko, as well as outstanding experts in the area of AI, while Day 3 included a marathon involving 8 Russian cities and the AI Journey Junior – a special program for schoolers.

As for NCFU, its representative Irina Glazkova (head of Dept for Strategic Progress) delivered a speech on AI technologies in Economics, as well as she outlined potential risks and issues.

Mrs. Glazkova’s involvement was part of the cooperation that NCFU has been running with Sberbank subject to an agreement signed in 2019.
