As part of celebrating the International Student Sports Day, the NCFU hosted the open Festival of Student Sports Leagues, with sportsmen from the Stavropol Region, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania, Ingushetia, Chechnya and Dagestan joining the event.

The Student Leagues – Sports Without Borders project, which was launched by the Russian Student Sports Union is aimed at promoting student sports in the regions of Russia and promoting new student leagues. One of the major tasks within the project is arranging various events and campaigns promoting sport and launching degree programs for professional training.

When addressing the participants, Sergey Seiranov (President of Russian Student Sport Union; Rector, Moscow State Academy of Physical Education) said:

– Student sport is a powerful and positive socio-cultural movement, which helps youngsters get better adjusted to life. I believe you have a bright future waiting for you.

During that day, over 80 participants, representing 6 delegations, got to know the student sports leagues of the North Caucasus universities, as well as the sports student associations and leagues of Russia, namely the National Student Boxing League, the Russian Mini-Football Association, the Student Boxing Association, the National Student Football League, the Association of Student Tour Clubs and the Student Swimming League. Besides, the event included the Caucasus. Sport. EXPO exhibition, where the history of student sports leagues was presented.
