NCFU Helps Foreign Students Get to Know Russian Culture
The NCFU is successfully running Marusya – a club for foreign students seeking to plunge into the Russian language and culture. Besides, the activities carried out here aim at enhancing the role that the Russian language plays as a universal means of intercultural communication in Russia.
The club is happy to welcome everyone willing to improve their Russian language skills and get accustomed to the local traditions.
– This Marusya club has been functioning since not so long ago – just October this year – as initiated by foreign students themselves. Indeed, they experience this need to study Russian, while many of them lack speaking skills, – Elina Pivanova (Head of Dept for Russian as Foreign Language) was quoted as saying.

The important part here is that the club members do not learn some theoretical issues yet also interact in an extremely informal setting – speak to each other, go to the theater, have local city tours, and enjoy concerts.
And all this they never do alone – more than a few students majoring in Linguistics and translation are always happy to offer a helping hand, thus attracting more and more members.
The club sessions are held on a weekly basis, so welcome, guys!
