The Interfax Group presented the XII Annual National University Ranking (NRU) for 2021. NCFU took the 36th place in the rating, the best among universities located on the territory of the North Caucasus Federal District. According to the criterion of "Education", the university ranked 23rd in the country.

Within the framework of the NRU project, 341 Russian universities were evaluated in 2021, including 29 national research universities, 10 federal and 21 universities that participated in the 5-100 Project.

The activity of universities was evaluated according to six parameters: educational activity, research activity, social environment, international and interregional cooperation, brand, innovation and technological entrepreneurship.

The National University Rating (NRU) project has been implemented by the Interfax Group since 2010. Its main goal is to develop mechanisms and procedures for an independent system of evaluation of Russian universities and their educational programs, to increase the competitiveness of the Russian education system, scientific research and technological entrepreneurship, and to develop federal and regional universities.

– The annual assessment of the results of the universities' activities allows the management and staff not only to understand the current situation in the academic community, but also to build a further development path. The increasing position of NCFU in this rating indicates that the decisions we made earlier on the digitalization of educational processes, the emphasis on expanding cooperation with both research centers and the real sector of the economy of Russia and the world have yielded positive results – commented the Rector of NCFU Dmitry Bespalov.
