NCFU researchers are developing technologies, which may be used to trat mental disorders and CNDs issues.

A group of chemists (Head – Prof. Irina Aksenova) are now studying new approaches to carbolin development. Carbolins are chemical compounds that are of great interest for pharmaceutical industry because they can be used to treat depression and some other neurological issues.

The development is unique, while the researchers stress that the physiological role of beta-carbolines in humans has yet to be proven. These substances can act as neuromodulators, and some even can be involved in the endocrinological function.

Now, further trials are to be held to reveal the true value of the new method.
