A lab for molecular and information will be established at the NCFU to become the largest in South Russia.

As Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) noted, the NCFU researchers jointly with the Stavropol Anti-Pest Institute are going to study both healthy and pathogenic microorganisms.

– The major task for the lab is to analyze information about microorganisms that pose a threat to human beings, including Covid-19 new strains. The pandemic has shown that we have to lock arms to counter the infection, – Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.

Besides, that researchers of the new lab will also study microorganisms that can be used to produce biologically active substances to be further used for developing respective medications.
