Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) announced recently that the NCFU is starting a new project.

– The Center for Languages of the Caucasus, which is functioning in our university, and which is operated jointly with partner universities, is embarking on a large-scale project, which implies the development of reliable interactive maps of the languages spoken by the peoples of the Caucasus. This will offer a complete list of languages and dialects of both the South and the North Caucasus. Besides, this project will also include work on non-written languages of the Caucasus. Our experts will carry out research on the interconnection of the Russian and Caucasian languages thus aiming to introduce advanced knowledge into education, - Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.

Besides, the NCFU experts have plans to make digital versions of the rare books on the history of the peoples of the Caucasus.

One of the priority areas for the Center is cooperation with the Consortium of the North Caucasus Universities and the Great Caucasus Consortium.
