Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) held meetings the top officials of Venezuela’s national universities.

One of the major events through the entire visit was a round-table discussion focusing on research & academic progress promotion for both Russia and Venezuela, arranged jointly by NCFU and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

As the parties discussed possible cooperation, they also shared the innovations they have developed in agriculture, and NCFU does have something good to offer.

– Our University has accumulated extensive experience in agriculture and biotechnology, and we currently running an large-scale project under the PRIORITY-2023 program, which focuses on creating new technologies and products for both agriculture itself and food processing industry. Besides, our experts are involved in numerous hi-tech projects in the area, and I am sure that exchanging advanced practices with or colleagues from Venezuela will only serve to propel research and education between our countries, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

The discussion ended with approvals concerning not only technological cooperation in diverse areas, yet also in the promotion of the Russian Language and Literature in Venezuela. The visit was concluded by a visit to the hybrid seed-producing plant and a cattle farm where advanced technologies are employed to breed unique species, and by signing a cooperation agreement with the Ministry for Productive Agriculture and Lands, following which the first step into the cooperation implies launching training programs in biotechnology, plant & animal genetics, and the Russian Language.
