Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, North-Caucasus Federal University) and Alan Ogoyev (Rector, North Ossetian State University) held a working meeting to discuss the most promising cooperation areas in both academic and research activities – Geography, Mathematics and Physics above all.

Combining the two academic institutions potential will offer synergetic effects thus creating more than a few products to enjoy demand in scientific, innovative, cultural and educational areas, as well as in training staff capable of solving various issues in the developing economic and social sectors of the entire region.

Effective interaction among universities is part of the system tasks set within the Federal project Development of integration processes in science, higher education and industry, announced earlier by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, which is part of another larger national project – Science and Universities. This project is aimed at ensuring, by 2030, Russia’s stable position among top ten leading countries in terms of research development, including through building an effective higher education system.
