Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) had a meeting with Aslan Bzhania (President, Republic of Abkhazia), where the two officials discussed plans and potential for further cooperation. The cooperation in question is not new – started in 2014 it has already yielded lots of positive results, both in terms of regulations and laws and in academic research cooperation.

– Our University has been cooperating with both research and educational institutions of Abkhazia for quite long now, and I can note that we have already developed a set of certain events for the year of 2024, including both degree programs and regulation development. I do believe that this cooperation will contribute to further expansion of our ties and will promote our mutual progress in research and education, – Prof. Bespalov noted.

Aslan Bzhania, in turn, expressed support to all the ideas offered by NCFU, specifically noting that refresher training for public officials is of great value, and expressed gratitude for the effort taken by NCFU to promote cooperation and be open to any initiatives and requests coming from their Abkhazian counterparts.
Another important meeting held was with Alaxander Ankvab (Prime Minister, Republic of Abkhazia) to discuss further plans aimed at the integration of the academic space of the two countries.
