More than 90% of foreign students of the largest university in the North Caucasus will be able to start studying in full-time format from September 1. For entry of foreign students, representatives of NCFU notify all relevant departments, upload student’s data into the Gosuslugi portal. An observatory with meal supply and medical care has been prepared for arriving students.

Earlier, more than 200 foreign students from Russian universities wrote an appeal in which they said that they had lost the opportunity to actively communicate, participate in university events, improve their Russian language skills due to difficulties connected to entering the Russian Federation due to coronavirus restrictions.

“In the new academic year we expect about 1,500 students from foreign countries. At the moment we have 677 foreign students from more than 50 countries. About 180 of them are outside the Russian Federation. There is an order from Rospotrebnadzor, that states which countries are open for entry of foreign students. 41 students are from countries that are not included in the list, unfortunately, there is no possibility of their arrival. We have notified all the rest students that they are able to come to study in the Russian Federation”, Elena Plotnikova, the Head of the International Education Department of NCFU, said.

In August and September the university will also sign orders for enrollment of new foreign students. It is expected that there will be about 400 of them.

Students who cannot yet enter Russia are from countries such as Bangladesh, Gabon, South Africa, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Honduras and others.

“Distance learning is organized for our students, they are provided with educational materials in electronic form, assignments can be given, students can complete and upload them through the university digital system, receive grades, pass the session. There is no such a situation when a student cannot come, he cannot study. The opportunity to study is provided to all the students in full”, the representative of the university said.
