NCFU students have come back from the Student League Swimming Cup bringing along eight medals.
The event, which brought together over 200 athletes representing 25 academic institutions from 9 areas of Russia, was held in Moscow (Russia) for two days, during which our kids never missed a chance.
There were 18 sets of medals on stake, and here come our winners:
· Elizaveta Kiiashko – 2 golds (100 m butterfly stroke, 50 m butterfly stroke);
· Ekaterina Pozhidaeva – 2 silvers (100 m backstroke, 50 m backstroke);
· Polina Kulevskaya – 3 bronzes (100 m free style, 50 m free style);
· Viktoria Yasenskaya – silver (50 m, backstroke).
In the team count, the NCFU athletes (8 sportsmen) was on Line 6, which is great indeed given the fact our team included not PE students only yet also students from the Institutes of Humanities, Engineering and even Law.

– It felt a little nervous since this is our first National contest, yet once the first results came out, I was so happy I am among the winners, not missing a chance to glorify our University, – Ekaterina Pozhidaeva (students, major – Physical Education) was quoted as saying.
This is not Ekaterina’s first success – in February this year, Ekaterina and Elizaveta Kiiashko won their gold and silver already (100 m, free style).
Great job, Ladies! Congrats!
