The North-Caucasus Federal University is starting a new stage in promoting the Russian Language in the Middle East.

As Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) noted, over 600 Lebanese will be studying Russian guided by experts of the NCFU, the first group of Lebanese teachers (14 persons) starting as soon as this week.

– As part of the cooperation with the University of Lebanon, the NCFU has started teaching Russian to more than 500 students and 100 teachers of the university, who have never studied the language before. These courses are delivered twice a week online up until the summer holiday. Promoting Russian is one of the missions assumed by the NCFU, and polls show there is a lot of interest among Middle East youngsters, so our project is a promising one, – Mr. Bespalov was quoted as saying.

Besides, the NCFU offers a lot of support to Lebanese teachers of Russian delivering them special lectures based on their request.

Further plans include more projects, both academic and cultural.
