The City of Vidnoe hosted the Russian Karate Cup as well as the National Contest in Shotokan, where NCFU students proved successful indeed.

Teams representing 32 Russian areas came to lock horns, and this is where Stanislav Kiryanov and Sergey Lysenko (team contest, males) took silver, while Nika Prusova managed to win gold in the category of 16-2-0, girls.

– I have been practicing this for 13 years now, even though after a long recess during the pandemic it was not easy to get back in shape and into the stream again. And yet I did manage, so looks like I have deserved this first place, – Nika Prusova (student, Institute of Education and Social Sciences, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

All in all, the sportsmen from Stavropol won 12 – in both personal and team contests.
