NCFU research results in 2025: achievements and awards

A meeting of the Academic Council was held at the North Caucasus Federal University under the chairmanship of the Rector, Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova. The key issue on the agenda was the summing up of the university's research activities in 2025. 

– NCFU's research activities are developing in the right strategic direction. The University consistently builds effective integration of science, education and the real sector of the economy. The growing number of interdisciplinary projects and cooperation with industrial partners allow us to turn scientific ideas into concrete solutions that are in demand in practice. Our plans include scaling up successful practices, supporting youth research teams and expanding the geography of partnerships," said Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova, Rector of NCFU.

NCFU Vice-Rector for Research, Doctor of Economics, Professor Svetlana Zenchenko mentioned in her report that the research work in 2025 covered wide university structures: 135 departments, 6 departments, 24 scientific and educational centers, 47 research laboratories, 25 scientific schools. The total number of scientific and methodological staff, including branches, reached 1,096 people, including 131 doctors and 610 candidates of sciences.

The priority scientific areas of the past year were organic chemistry, genetics and breeding, food biotechnologies, energy efficiency, and socio-humanitarian research.

In 2025, the university implemented 43 scientific projects. In addition, NCFU has completed eight fundamental projects under the state assignment of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation.

Also at the meeting of the Academic Council, the merits of a number of employees were noted. Colonel Vladimir Bashtovoy, head of the military training center, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, was awarded the medal "For Help and Mercy" for assistance to military personnel participating in a special military operation. 

A letter of thanks from the Governor of the Stavropol Territory for his contribution to the development of scientific research and many years of hard work was presented to Anna Bagdasarova, Candidate of Philosophy, Director of the Coordination Center for the Formation of Active Citizenship among Young People, prevention of interethnic and interfaith conflicts, countering the ideology of terrorism and preventing extremism. 

The diploma of the winner of the National Award "Professor of the Year" in the nomination "Philology" was awarded to Vyacheslav Golovko, Doctor of Philology, Distinguished Professor of NCFU.
