International students and trainees of the preparatory department of the North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) took part in one of the events of the "Get to Know Russia with Knowledge" project, listening to a lecture dedicated to Russian holidays.

The project "Get to know Russia with Knowledge", implemented with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, continues its active work at NCFU. As part of the project, students from abroad have the opportunity to touch the rich cultural, historical and scientific heritage of our country, find friends and strengthen interethnic ties.

— For our foreign listeners, these are not just lectures, but a window into Russian culture. The guys are not just learning Russian. It is also important for them to understand how Russia lives, what is valuable to us. Such meetings help them get used to it faster, reduce the language and cultural barrier, and give them a sense of confidence. We see a lively response from students, which means that this format of work really helps to adapt," said Ekaterina Ukhanova, head of the preparatory department for foreign citizens at NCFU.

Stavropol University acted as a co-organizer and provided a platform for an educational lecture addressed to the students of the preparatory department and international students. And the lecture itself was conducted by Vasilina Pikalova, a lecturer at the Russian Society "Znanie", who fascinatingly and, most importantly, sensibly revealed the topic of state and national holidays in Russia, told about their historical roots and connection with national identity. The lively dialogue and sincere interest of the participants became the best confirmation of the relevance of such educational initiatives.

The main objective of the lecture series is not only to transfer knowledge, but also to strengthen cultural ties, form a friendly and respectful attitude towards Russian culture, and support foreign citizens at the stage of their integration into Russian society.
