"The "Rurikids" excursion at the "Russia - My History" museum and exhibition complex was introduced to the history of Ancient Russia by foreign students of the North Caucasus Federal University on September 19, 2026. All this has become available thanks to the national "Youth and Children" project.

An excursion dedicated to the Rurik dynasty was attended by 25 NCFU students from Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka and other countries. The event became part of the educational festival "Russia – My Story".

The program was prepared specifically for the English-speaking audience to tell the guests about the era of the rule of the Rurik dynasty. The guide outlined the key battles of that time and showed how people lived in the lands of Ancient Russia: from the construction of dwellings to crafts and traditions. "" He also spoke about the significance of the legendary trade route "From the Varangians to the Greeks", which connected Northern Europe with Byzantium, becoming one of the most important factors in the formation of Russian statehood.

It is also important that the "Rurikovichi" exposition, on the basis of which the tour took place, has recently received updated content. This allowed us to reveal the historical and cultural heritage of the period in a new aspect: with interactive elements, visual materials and a narrative adapted for foreigners.

For foreign students, such meetings are an opportunity not only to get to know the history of the country in which they study, but also to better understand its culture and roots. The students actively asked questions, photographed the exhibits and shared their impressions.
