8-11 grade schoolers from all over Russia can now lock horns to see who is best at Journalism.

This is the first time the University is hosting an Olympic of that level. As the organizers note, the event was to have been of the regional level yet, given the interest taken all over Russia, the scale had to be taken up – over 900 persons joined the selection round.

The North Caucasus is one of the most diverse, and therefore, attractive areas of Russia, offering a lot to those interested in studying economic, social and cultural issues, and this means we can offer a lot to those focusing on the most diverse areas of human life.

Now, schoolers had the first – online – tour, where they faced tasks to advance further.

The whole event was arranged so as to cover as many areas of Journalism as possible, and the preliminary tasks proved challenging yet interesting.

– Round two was much more interesting – we were assembled in a large room where we could talk and even meet the Jury and people employed at the Dept for Journalism, who are to check our completed works. We realized they are all people, each with a story that may be similar to ours, – Viktoria Petina (participant) noted.

– Joining such events will expand our vision, you can easily see what you still have to work on, what books or articles you should read. Besides, this is new experience and great entertainment, as well as a perfect way to see where you can pursue your degree! – another participant – Alisa Asmakovskaya – shared.

All the participants of the offline round will be awarded their respective certificates, whereas the winners will also have prizes and 10 extra points to be used when seeking admission to the University.
