The Head of the Government of the Russian Federation approved Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova as the new rector of NCFU

On March 24, 2026, by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 597-r, Professor Tatyana Shebzukhova, previously acting Rector since July 2025, was appointed Rector of the North Caucasus Federal University.
The decree on the appointment of the rector of the North Caucasus Federal University was signed by Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
The document has been published on the official portal of legal information, and, according to it, the new head of the Federal University in the North Caucasus Federal District begins to perform his main duties without the prefix I.O.
– Appoint Tatyana Alexandrovna Shebzukhova as rector of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education "North Caucasus Federal University" for a period of five years, – the text of the government decree says.
Prior to that, Tatiana Alexandrovna served as rector of the main university of the macroregion from July 29, 2025. Prior to her appointment, Shebzukhova headed the Pyatigorsk Institute (branch) of NCFU, is a Doctor of Historical Sciences (2002), Professor (2006), Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (2007).
– In the near future, our efforts will focus on improving the quality of graduates in accordance with the demands of the labor market; on balancing the personnel training system with higher and secondary vocational education in the interests of the economy of the macroregion. We will also increase the volume of scientific research in priority areas focused on technological leadership. Partnership with business and key employers remains the constant foundation of our work," said Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova, Rector of NCFU.
Tatiana Alexandrovna Shebzukhova has been working in the higher education system since 1996. She worked her way up from methodologist to dean (since 1999) and director of the Pyatigorsk Institute (branch) North Caucasus Federal University (since 2012). She carried out scientific and pedagogical activities, consistently holding positions: assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor. Since 2022, he has been a member of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
He has two higher educations. She was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.

For reference: North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) was established in 2012 by merging 3 universities in the Stavropol Territory: North Caucasus State Technical University, Stavropol State University and Pyatigorsk University of Humanities and Technology. He has a wide range of specialties – more than 250: from engineering and natural sciences to humanities and socio-economic disciplines.
