On January 20, the admission campaign is starting for foreign citizens seeking to study in Russian universities. This chance to become a student is offered on a free basis under a special quota approved by the Russian Government.

Foreign students living abroad who would like to study in Russia will now be allowed to submit e-applications (special public system «Образование в РФ для иностранцев» / Education in the Russian Federation for Foreigners). The deadline is February 20, 2021.

The selection process will include two stages.

Stage One is to be carried out by the representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian Cooperation), Russian embassies and foreign missions (registration is available following the link: https://education-in-russia.com; redirection to the system may be done following the links here: https://edu.rs.gov.ru/ and https://future-in-russia.com/). The results of the admission tests will serve the basis for the list of candidates admitted subject to the quota allocated for the respective country.

Stage Two is carried out by the Russian universities based on the applicants’ files.

Please note that foreign applicants and compatriots living abroad will have to apply to the Russian representative institution located in the country of which they are citizens.

In the event there is no such representative office in your country, the selection shall be carried out by the diplomatic mission, including the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
