Designing Future: NCFU Launches Maths Week in Syria

NCFU has launched the Russian Week of Mathematics and Computer Sciences in Syria, which will be held in two places – Damascus and Homs.
– Our university, jointly with the Russian House in Syria, enjoys holding the Mathematics Week here, thus offering schoolers a chance to both acquire new knowledge and try their hand in solving some applied tasks. Digital competencies can hardly be overestimated in all any area of human activity. We truly value the interest taken in the education that Russia can offer, and we do hope to expand our cooperation in the future, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.
During the visit, Dmitry Bespalov also had a meeting with Prof. Mhd. Osama Jabban (President, Damascus University), while the head of the Syrian academic institution noted high interest in expanding cooperation with the largest university of the North Caucasus.

Another meeting that Prof. Bespalov held was with Alexander Efimov (Ambassador of Russia in Syria) to discuss plans for the future of international academic partnership in Syria.

Further plans for the year include delivering a series of Russian language courses for the teachers of Russian from Syria; School for Young Leaders (Oct, 2023), and hosting the 2nd Caucasus-Caspian-East Forum.
