The III International BIOPROM Forum brought together more than 540 companies from 73 regions of Russia and foreign countries in Gelendzhik. The delegation of the North Caucasus Federal University presented at the forum developments in the field of food biotechnology and bioengineering, from new generation protein concentrates to lactose and lactulose production technologies for the pharmaceutical and food industries.
The forum has been held since 2024 and brings together representatives of bioeconomics, biotech medicine, ecology and the cosmetics industry. As part of the business program, a strategic session "Ecosystem of high quality of life" was held with the participation of Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. The NCFU exhibits were visited by Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, and Andrey Fursenko, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.

The university's stand presents the results of joint projects with the Stavropol Dairy Plant. Among the developments are lactose and lactulose for pharmaceuticals and baby food, whey protein concentrates with a protein content of up to 80 percent, and milk protein concentrate for sports and functional nutrition. These products have high bioavailability and a complete amino acid profile, which makes them in demand both in the sports industry and in the production of products for therapeutic and preventive nutrition.
– The University is systematically working to create technologies that strengthen the country's food security and reduce dependence on imported components," said Svetlana Zenchenko, Vice Rector for Research at NCFU, Doctor of Economics, Professor. – Our developments in the field of deep milk processing are already being implemented in real production. This is a direct contribution to the achievement of Russia's technological sovereignty, which is mentioned in the national strategic documents.
The NCFU developments presented at the forum are of direct practical importance. For example, innovations being developed by scientists at the Bioengineering Center located at the Stavropol Dairy Plant can already be found on store shelves. Thus, protein concentrates are used for the production of sports nutrition, dairy products, cottage cheese and cheeses with increased nutritional value. Lactulose is used in children's and therapeutic nutrition as a prebiotic. The introduction of these technologies into industry makes high—quality nutrition more accessible to a wide audience - from athletes to health-watchers.

– The Center for Biotechnological Engineering, opened on the basis of the Stavropol Dairy Plant, conducts scientific research and provides the transfer of laboratory developments to industrial production. The history of this partnership goes back more than ten years. It is important that the process is organized with simultaneous government support, university funding and business investments - this makes it possible to maximize the use of resources and bring ready–made technologies to market faster," said Georgy Anisimov, head of the Bioengineering Center at North Caucasus Federal University.
It should be recalled that together with the Stavropol Dairy Plant NCFU, for the first time in Russia, a technology for the production of lactose and lactulose has been developed. Both projects were implemented in Russia for the first time and now 15% of the total lactose demand is produced in Stavropol. Deep milk processing projects are being implemented at NCFU within the framework of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 218 and the strategic academic leadership program "Priority 2030".
