The presentation of the Federal University was a special one this time – during the three days prospective students not only learnt about the degrees offered and the terms and conditions for studying here, yet also could have a tour around the University, Stavropol, attend a lecture and even have a pilot test.

As NCFU, supported by the EDINSTVO (Unity) foundation held the Open Doors Day, 400 prospective applicants from Kyrgyzstan the broadcast to meet Lyudmila Alieva (Head of Department for International Relations, NCFU) and learn about the unique opportunities offered by the largest academic institution in the North Caucasus. Besides, the audience could meet representatives of three NCFU Institutes (Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies; Institute of Earth Sciences; Institute of Engineering) and even hear some impressions shared by Kyrgyz students who are currently pursuing their respective degrees in NCFU as well as enjoy a virtual walk around the campus and Stavropol.

On Day 2, the audience learnt more about the region and the extracurricular activities, and then, following their request, a lecture highlighting the most complicated issues in Optics was delivered for them.

Naturally, many applicants wanted to try their hand, so to say, taking a pilot test, and this was another option offered to them on Day 3.

– We are trying to find newer ways in career guidance so as to stir interest among foreign applicants, – Lyudmila Alieva was quoted as saying. – Youngsters nowadays enjoy real face-to-face or online interaction rather than conventional presentations. And this is what they got here at the event we held form them. The feedback was nothing but positive, so we do hope they will come to study here this year.
