At a working meeting between the rector of the North Caucasus Federal University, Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova, and the head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Kazbek Kokov, prospects for joint projects in the field of tourism development, new technologies and education were discussed.

The main topic of the meeting held on April 1, 2026 in Nalchik between the head of the main university of the district and the head of the CBD was the expansion of cooperation in the field of staffing of priority sectors of the republic.

Thus, NCFU Rector Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova proposed to strengthen the direction of continuing education according to the "school – college – university – enterprise" model. In addition, scientific and technological partnership in the field of bioagrotechnologies was discussed with the leadership of the republic.

"The main scientific activity of the university is the creation of innovations in the field of technological engineering and bioeconomics. For example, our scientists have concentrated their efforts on the application of modern technologies in the field of the agro-industrial complex. We are ready to develop in cooperation such areas as yield monitoring, the creation of domestic micro fertilizers and projects on genomic breeding of plants and animals," said Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova, Rector of NCFU.

University scientists have developed a method for accelerated breeding of new varieties of apple trees based on DNA analysis. There are also developments in the field of micro fertilizers, which increase yields by 20-30%, reduce dependence on imported drugs and enhance the resistance of gardens to climatic stresses.
