NCFU expands partnerships with Armenian universities

The NCFU delegation headed by Rector Dmitry Bespalov is on a working visit to Armenia. A meeting was held with the leadership of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, where the results and prospects of joint work were discussed.

The National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUAСA)
is one of the oldest and leading universities in the country. At the meeting with the rector of the University Yeghiazar Vardanyan, the prospects of cooperation in       various directions were discussed. Thus, the partners discussed plans for joint activities within the framework of the Great Caucasus Consortium (together with NCFU and NUACA, it includes the Abkhazian and South Ossetian State Universities). The association was created at the end of last year on the initiative of Dmitry Bespalov to develop scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the field of studying and teaching the Russian language. Russian language classes for NUACA students by NCFU teachers, as well as the organization of competitions-reviews of students ' final qualifying works written in Russian, were agreed upon during the meeting in Yerevan.

The partners paid great attention to further cooperation in the field of education. The launch of a joint master's program in construction developed by both universities with the possibility of obtaining two diplomas - NCFU and NUACA was discussed. It was noted that within the framework of joint work, it is planned to exchange teaching staff and teaching materials, realization joint scientific conferences, seminars, symposiums, round tables and exhibitions. NCFU's proposal to organize summer and winter student schools in construction, architecture and design, as well as to create a consolidated construction team that will work on the territory of Russia and Armenia, aroused great interest among NUACA representatives. The youth of the republic was also invited to participate in the NCFU international youth media project "They defended the Caucasus". According to the rector of NCFU Dmitry Bespalov, this initiative is aimed at preserving the historical memory of the role of all peoples in the Battle for the Caucasus during the Great Patriotic War. As part of the project, a collective memorial panel will be created from pictures of defenders of the Motherland. The Organizing Committee also accepts videos about the heroes of the Battle for the Caucasus and copies of publications in the media about the tragic events of those years.


During the visit, the NCFU delegation got acquainted with the research laboratories of NUACA. Dmitry Bespalov was told about the priority areas of work and the latest achievements of scientists. The discussion of the creation of an international research laboratory has been launched. It will specialize in the development of new innovative materials and technologies for the construction industry.

– Our cooperation with the leading universities of Armenia is becoming more and more fruitful from year to year, - said the rector of NCFU Dmitry Bespalov. – Such successful joint work makes a significant contribution to the strengthening of educational, scientific and cultural ties between our countries. I am sure that the constant and intensive exchange of experience, the unification of the high potential of our universities will become the basis for the implementation of new relevant joint projects in various fields.

Within the framework of the working trip, the NCFU delegation will visit several more scientific and educational organizations of Armenia, meetings with the leadership of the Armenian Academy of Sciences and the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo are also planned.
