A New Double-Diploma Program Launched

NCFU and the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan) have launched a new joint Master’s degree program in Information Security, with four students already passing successfully the entrance exams to join the studies. Once they complete the training, they will be awarded respective certificates from the two universities in question.

The training is offered on a free basis, and the classes are to be delivered in Russian. From NCFU part, the program is run within the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies.

– The program is aimed at raising experts possessing competencies in the field of ensuring data security from unauthorized access: virus attacks, internal and external intruders, etc. - Vyacheslav Petrenko (Director, Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies) was quoted as saying. - Students will master mathematical and software methods of information protection, such as intrusion detection system, security analysis and many more things.

An important area of cooperation will be joint research, for which purpose the partners have created an international cybersecurity research laboratory. The results of joint research are to be published in top rated scientific publications indexed by the international databases Scopus and Web of Science.

Other activities planned for the partner universities will include joint events and projects, international conferences, seminars and meetings.
