The North-Caucasus Federal University joined the Second Middle East Exhibition of the Russian Universities, held in Lebanon and Syria. Representatives of nearly 20 leading universities from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg and other Russian cities presented their undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs in all specialties. The purpose of the event was to offer compatriots and foreign citizens a chance to study at higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation.

The exhibition opened at Damascus University, then moved to Tishrin University in Latakia, and then went on working in Lebanon in Tripoli, Beirut, Tire and Batrun.

- 19 Russian universities took part in our exhibition under the slogan RUSSIA – NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGHER EDUCATION. These are leading universities that presented more than 250 areas of training and specialties. 2.8 thousand people took part in exhibition events in Syria, 3.5 thousand in Lebanon,” Vadim Zaichikov (Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Beirut) was quoted as saying.

Apart from getting to know the training areas and admission rules, applicants could also learn about the scholarship program launched by the Russian Government, internships and continuing education programs at Russian universities. As the representatives of the Russian delegation noted, such events not only help attract Lebanese students, yet also promote research and technical cooperation between the two countries.

In the near future, a campaign will be launched to select candidates for training in the Russian Federation.

The first exhibition that was held last year brought together representatives of 14 Russian universities and attracted over 6 thousand visitors.
