The campaign #GiveNewYear launched by NCFU students is over, with around 800 kids of Russian nationals residing in Syria getting their sweet gifts from Russia.

The idea came around in November 2018, when NCFU students decided to start a large-scale campaign through social networks asking all those indifferent to bring a little sunshine into kids’ life. As a result, the campaign that was carried out jointly with the Russian Cooperation agency in Syria and Lebanon, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Defense, raised enough money to buy about 800 gifts, which were further delivered to Syria and distributed among children residing there.

However, the sweet things were not the major gift, actually, as the most valuable was the mystery of the New Year and belief in miracle. And this worked perfectly since the children made a short video thanking their magicians.

However, this is not the end of the good deeds marathon – NCFU is already in close cooperation with Syrian universities and the plans now are to offer regular support to one of schools in Syria where students can study Russian.
