Kosuke Motani (Senior Economist at Japan Research Institute, Special Advisor at the Development Bank of Japan) has visited NCFU delivering a seminar on Regional Economy. During the seminar the expert shared his vast experience gained through extensive research work involving studies and visits to 3,200 of his home country as well as 90 places overseas.

The discussion focused on the so-called mature society concept the examples being the current economies of Japan, China, Russia, Europe, and America. As the expert noted, in the nearest 50 years the mankind will have to face general society ageing, which will affect economies – the internal demand will be far from active. Revitalizing the demand would take special measures, which might help overcome the global economic cutback.

Besides, the expert dwelled on the state of things in the tourism industry offering certain examples of potentially growing offers, joint holidays for grandparents & grandkids being among them, and recommended this idea be taken into consideration when planning tourism development in the North Caucasus.
