NCFU Rector Speaks at Forum

Date of material placement: 18-01-2018, 17:09.

Alina Levitskaya (Rector, NCFU) joined the discussion Theology and Progress held at the forum Russian and the World – Aims and Values.

The purpose of the discussion is to present Theology as a contemporary area of knowledge within wide socio-humanitarian context – not only as an area pertaining to the Church yet as a view on issues regarding the aims and values of the country’s development, the contemporary challenges, and the growing role of religion in international relations.

When speaking at the discussion, where rectors of the leading Russian universities were present, Alina Levitskaya told about moral and spiritual education in a poly-cultural context, where the NCFU is a perfect example – since 2012 the NCFU has been running academic degree programs of Theological profile. This means, as Mrs. Levitskaya noted, that there is a high demand for professional Theologians who could act as religious educators and researchers.

After the discussion a brief presentation of the Scientific & Academic Theological Association was held, where Alina Levitskaya is one of the members.
