Mutual Understanding as Innovation

NCFU presented its innovative experience of working with young people aiming at developing accessible environment. The interactive site Territory of Mutual Understanding, represented by the Department of Defectology (Institute of Education and Social Sciences) stirred a lot of positive response among the visitors.

The Territory of Mutual Understanding including the Territory of Silence, the Territory of Darkness, the Territory of Immobility and the Territory of Silence offered the visitors an opportunity to experience the life that persons with disabilities have to live.

People could get to know the basics of the Braille alphabet as well as books adapted for children with visual impairment.

As many noted, the Territories of mutual understanding is not just an innovative project that helps common people understand the feelings of those with health issues yet this is a project that breaks down the barriers of communication and prejudice that the society has developed in relation to disabled people.
