NCFU Rector Joins Meeting of Two Presidential Councils

Alina Levitskaysa (Rector, NCFU) joined the joint meeting held by the Council for Culture and Arts and the Council for Russian Language at Presidents’ Office held within the 5th St. Petersburg Culture Forum. The meeting focused on various issues of the public culture policy, education in arts as well as ways to develop dialogue between society and people of arts.

When delivering his speech Vladimir Putin (President of Russia) noted that more and more Russians prefer smart leisure, opting for museums and other intellectual activities.

– Thanks to support to reading, more and more people choose smart leisure. Suffice it to say that the annual number of people in our country who visited museums has reached 120 mln. I do not even know if there is any other country in the world that might boast of similar figures, – President of Russia was quoted as saying, – However, we also need new, specific ways of reading classics in the movies,, in the theater, in the social networks, etc.

Besides, Mr. Putin also mentioned the importance of the Russian language as humanitarian values allow better understanding of the national culture. And the Russian language as well as classical Russian literature have always served basis for the common spiritual and moral values, which we still pass from generation to generation.
