Adu Yao Nikez, President of Russian Association of Foreign Students visited Russia withinthe Russian National Forum RUSSIA OF STUDENTS, and held meetings with the top management of NCFU as well as with students.

When holding a meeting Alina Levitskaya (Rector, NCFU) and other authorities Adu Yao Nikez mentioned the high level of arrangements taken to hold the Forum.

– It was of special importance to us that the students leaders coming from all over Russia should not just attend some entertaining events yet also had some experts working with them, so that they should take something home after visiting our place, - Alina Levitskaya was quoted as saying.

Besides, NCFU’s Rector asked the high guest if the foreign students were happy with their studies at NCFU, to which Adu Yao Nikez responded:

– I am always in touch with our kids and I know what is going on. They write to me that they are completely happy, which makes me happy, too.

Next day a meeting was arranged for foreign students with Dmitry Sumskoy (First Pro-Rector, NCFU), who noted that NCFU has a special so-called Law Clinic functioning where any student can get a free piece of advice especially given the fact that many people are not aware of all peculiar features of the Russian legislation.

When addressing the students, Adu Yao Nikez said that he could see quite a progress in the command of the Russian language demonstrated by some of the students, which means that NCFU works on that a lot. Students though said they would like to study Russian more intensively, and here Adu Yao Nikez explained them that to advance in the language they should interact with native speakers as much as possible.

– We should establish councils for foreign students for each of the Institutes of NCFU, and the chairs of those councils will be members of the student council of the University. Besides, I think we should establish representative offices for various diasporas represented here, - First Pro-Rector was quoted as saying, and the students did support the idea.

At the end of the meeting Adu Yao Nikez told the students that they should be involved in the University’s activities as much as possible as it is not only the higher education degree certificate that counts when getting employment yet also leadership skills.
