Dmitry Livanov (Minister of Education and Science of Russia) together with Alexander Stradze (Director, Department for Public Policy in Child and Youth Education) visited North Caucasus Federal University.

Together with Alina Levitskaya (Rector, NCFU), Vladimir Vladimirov (Governor of Stavropol Region), and Irina Kuvaldina (Deputy Chair of Government, Stavropol Region) they visited the scientific laboratory RobotoTechnic Systems and the "clean zones” at the Centre for Shared Access to Technical Equipment.

Mr. Livanov noted the positive experience of teaching computer science and computer data to those majoring in teaching and pedagogy, which is evidence to a high level of training:

- In this one University you are training teachers, engineers, and specialists at the same time. And this is very important as those to become teachers soon get a fundamental basis in their knowledge, - Mr. Livanov was quoted as saying.

The guests visited many other hi-tech equipped laboratories and listened to presentations delivered by NCFU professors.

At the end of the visit our scientists gave Mr. Livanov a special gift – a thin layer of artificial sapphire with a film of diamond-like carbon grown in one of the NCFU labs.
