The annual meeting of the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA) held in Brussels (Belgium) adopted the decision on admitting NCFU to the Association. The largest University of the North Caucasus was represented by Olga Lepilkina (Head, Dept for History and Theory of Journalism) and Svetlana Kuzmenko (Director, Centre for International Development).

When opening the meeting held at the International Press-Centre for EC, Nico Drok (President of EJTA) introduced the applicants, and NCFU was given a word of reference from Maria Lukina (Lomonosov Moscow State University, member of Presidium, EJTA) who described NCFU as an innovative and progressive University. The speech delivered by Svetlana Kuzmenko presenting NCFU stirred a lot of interest and discussion among the European colleagues, and following a vote NCFU became the first Federal University (second among Russian Universities) admitted to the EJTA.

As Olga Lepilkina said, this is a step into newer possibilities opening before the journalists of NCFU. This implies student and staff exchange, joint research projects, and many other opportunities, yet the most important being a higher rating in the global academic space.
