Date of material placement: 13-05-2014, 10:40.

Stavropol hosted the Gala-show of the regional contest Student Spring-2014, and this was a full night as the best of the best youth presented the audience with their special "treats”.

The show started with the prizes awarded to the winners, and the youngsters got them from Irina Kuvaldina (Deputy Prime Minister of Stavropol Region) and Vasily Lyamin (Minister of Education and Youth Policy of Stavropol Region), The absolute winner award for the Best Urban Programme was given to Stavropol while the NCFU’s dance studio VERTICAL became the best in the nomination of Original Genre – these absolute winners absolutely melted the Jury’s hearts and won their absolute love with their unusual performance involving highly complicated tricks, flexibility, and physical stamina.

There were also other groups representing NCFU and the audience gave a huge hand more than a few times to the dance group Extreme, dance theatre Smile, the ballroom dance studio Talisman, the folk dance studios Gorets and Kazachya Volya, the vocal studio Debut, and many others. And it seemed that the show was staged by professionals as few would believe they were just students.

Now that the regional contest is over the best of the best will represent our region in the Russian national Contest to be started on May 15 in Tolyatti, with five NCFU performance studios being part of the Stavropol Region’s entry.

- We are happy indeed to see so many student groups performing here, and we do believe they will do really well at the national contest. 87 out of the 133 members of the Stavropol Region’s delegation are the NCFU students. Last year two of our groups already won awards at Russian national contests so we hope they will go on further. They always have newer and newer shows, and the most important part is that they never at what they have achieved. In show it is important to progress further, and our groups manage here well. We believe in them and wish them lots of success in the final stage in Tolyatti, - Dmitry Sumskoy (First Pro-Rector) was quoted as saying.
